Dancer, Choreography & Movement Direction

To me, choreography and movement direction are ways of listening to what makes us human. Whether working in theatre or guiding communities through memory and reflection, I view the body as a space for dialogue—an invitation to connect through the raw, beautiful expression of our humanity.

  • COMMUNITY DANCE: Buenas Noticias (2019 - 2022)

Buenas Noticias (Good News) is a community-based dance and movement project developed in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Sala de Parto, Teatro La Plaza. This initiative works with survivors of political violence in Peru, using contemporary dance and embodiment as tools for memory, healing, and social reconciliation. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the project transforms personal and collective narratives into powerful performances, fostering a space for truth and resistance through the moving body.

  • MOVEMENT DIRECTION IN THEATRE: Ausentes (2016 - 2017)

In my role as Movement Director, I led an interdisciplinary research process focused on the "creation of presence." My work went beyond choreography, exploring the actor’s body in relation to time, space, and scenic action. By investigating traditional Peruvian dances—such as Shacshas and Shapish—we transformed cultural gestures into a contemporary scenic language, evoking the physical weight of memory and absence.

  • CONTEMPORARY DANCE: Tú cocinarás para mi y yo bailaré para ti (2011)

Recipient of the Production and Exhibition Award from the Cultural Center of Spain (CCE) in Lima, this project represents a significant milestone in my career as a General Director. The work explores the poetic intersection between daily domestic rituals and artistic expression. By securing this prestigious institutional grant, the production was able to bridge high-level stagecraft with intimate narratives, reinforcing my commitment to creating multidisciplinary performances that engage with the complexities of everyday life.
